Recipe ~ Honey Beer Bread

Today was a beautiful fall day. The sun was shining and there was a slight chill in the air. We went to the pumpkin patch and spent some time with my mom. Once we got home, I decided it was the perfect day to make some honey beer bread. It makes the house smell so good while it’s baking and tastes good too!

Pinterest FAIL ~ Balsamic Roasted Carrots

I’m trying something new today, being completely open about a recipe I tried and failed at miserably. I debated about even posting it, but I figure this whole cooking thing is a learning process. My husband always asks if I found the recipe on Pinterest and I think that’s his easy way of being able to say he doesn’t like it or want to try it. He doesn’t realize they are still real recipes!! I want to state right here and now that I didn’t follow the recipe exactly and that’s probably why I ate one bite of mine and threw it away. I’m sure if I would have followed it properly, mine would have been just as yummy as these sounded and looked.

Recipe ~ Seasoned Pretzels

Seasoned Pretzels

I absolutely LOVE pig out days at work. Everyone always brings in something yummy and our last get together was no different. I completely ran out of time to make something so I won’t be partaking, but I did sneak some of these amazing pretzels that my co-worker made. She was gracious enough to share her recipe with me 🙂 I would have made my roll-ups if I would have had more time!

Recipe ~ Chicken Soup

‘Tis the season for colds which means it’s also homemade chicken soup season 🙂 My husband makes the BEST chicken soup EVER! I always say it’s because it’s made with love, but I’ll let you in on a little secret; he HATES making it lol. He says it’s made out of spite . . . not spice. Since I’m battling my first cold of the new year, I figure this would be the perfect time for me to make it for myself.

Recipe ~ BBQ

There are some recipes that I just crave and my mom’s BBQ is one of them. I love making it on the weekends because that seems to be the only time I can give it the time it needs to simmer lol. I decided that the Packer Sunday was a good excuse to make this recipe.

Recipe ~ Ham Roll-ups

This may seem like an odd recipe to post, as most people think ham roll-ups are easy to make. I’ve actually had quite a few people comment on the way I make them and how good they taste, so I thought I better share my secret.

Whipped Cream Cheese

Dill Pickle Spears

Honey Ham

1. Remove the ham slices and place them on a paper plate. Pat each piece dry with paper toweling.

2. This is the secret part; fillet each spear. Yes, just like a fish. The “guts” of the pickle make the roll-up soggy if you don’t remove them. I then slice the spear in half.

3. Lay out a piece of ham out on a cutting board and spread a thin layer of cream cheese over the whole piece.

4. Place a pickle at the end of the ham.

5. Roll up the pickle and cut in to four pieces. I generally cut the ends off because I don’t think they look pretty on the plate.

6. Arrange on a serving platter.

Hope you enjoyed this easy recipe. These are my favorite appetizers to make and they are always a hit.

I’d love to hear your recipe for ham roll-ups down in the comments.

Until next time.

Much love,
