September Recap

EM Photography

Another month has come and gone. I can’t believe it’s already October. It seems like summer was just getting started. In a way I’m sorry to see summer go, but I’m actually looking forward to having a fire in the fireplace and making more time to do things inside instead of working on the yard. Ready to see how I did on September’s goals?

How to Prepare for a Craft Fair

EM Photography

One of my goals this year was to participate in a craft fair. I added it to my Leonie Dawson 100 Things to Do in 2015 list, added a photo of a craft fair to my vision board and then prayed that an opportunity would come to me. I had so many photo shoots going on and with moving into our new house, I wasn’t actively looking for craft fairs, but that didn’t stop the universe from bringing me the opportunity to me.

Love the Home You Have ~ Book Review

Love the Home You Have

I want to start off by thanking Melissa for writing a book that truly feels like it was written just for me. I wish I would’ve had this book when my husband and I first met. The first house we lived in together was a home he purchased when he was with his ex-wife. The reason I tell you that is so that you understand where my feelings came from and why I struggled to love the home we had. Melissa makes you realize that no matter the house you live in or the circumstances that have brought you to where you are you can put all the ideas and dreams from your head into that home.

Second Chance at Life ~ Dresser

Dresser Redo

There have been many projects that I’ve wanted to do well before we even sold our first house. The main one, though, was bringing home two large pieces of furniture from my grandpa’s chicken coop up north. I’m a sentimental person and want to save and restore anything I can get my hands on. I believe that most old & forgotten furniture can, for the most part, be saved and new life breathed into it. From the time I laid my eyes on the old furniture that was piled up in the chicken coop, I knew some day I’d bring it all home and do just that.

Yard Update!

Happy Friday! It’s been way too long since I’ve updated you on all the things blooming in our yard. This summer has gone by so fast and the chill in the air lately is making me think of fall. As I get older, the more I fall in love with this time of year. I know. . . you’re thinking “But Liz, it’s still AUGUST!” Yes, I know but only for a few more days and then it’s SEPTEMBER which immediately switches my mindset from summer to fall. Yes, I will miss the warm days and summer blooms, but there is something about being cozy in the house working on projects that has me excited this year. Oh, and the fact that we have a fireplace now!! I can’t wait to have our first fire in it. OK, now that I’ve probably made a few of you mad for wishing for fall weather, let me share what bloomed in our yard over the past few months 🙂

Adam & Samantha ~ Wedding

On August 8th, I had the pleasure of photographing the marriage of my step-brother Adam, to the love of his life, Samantha. These two have been together for almost 10 years and I’m so happy they are finally MARRIED! It was the perfect day, cloudy, but comfortable and just as the ceremony ended, the sun came out 🙂 Samantha, you were the most stunning bride I have EVER seen. I hope you both enjoy this snapshot of your wedding through photos.
