Window Wall

You know that feeling when you check off items on a list? That giddy, elated feeling that one more thing is done? Itโ€™s wonderful isnโ€™t it? ๐Ÿ™‚ Thatโ€™s how Iโ€™m feeling lately. We have been going gangbusters working on projects these past few weeks and the house is coming together more and more each day. One project that we just finished was adding windows and a frame to our kitchen wall. Itโ€™s a huge floor-to-ceiling wall and needed something quite big to fill the space.ย  I took some old windows, wood from up north, and a photo to create a wonderful display ๐Ÿ™‚

Adam & Samantha ~ Wedding

On August 8th, I had the pleasure of photographing the marriage of my step-brother Adam, to the love of his life, Samantha. These two have been together for almost 10 years and I’m so happy they are finally MARRIED! It was the perfect day, cloudy, but comfortable and just as the ceremony ended, the sun came out ๐Ÿ™‚ Samantha, you were the most stunning bride I have EVER seen. I hope you both enjoy this snapshot of your wedding through photos.

Newborn ~ Sadie

Newborn Photography

I can’t believe that a little over a week ago, I photographed two newborns. It feels amazing to have finally stepped out of my comfort zone. When they say every baby is different when it comes to photographing. . .they aren’t kidding. My first newborn was 7 days old and awake the whole time, but completely content. Sadie, on the other hand, was 15 days old and gave me a run for my money ๐Ÿ™‚ She wanted to be fed every two hours and never did fall into a deep sleep. Even through all that, the parents were amazing and I was able to capture some beautiful images.

A & E Photo Shoot ~ Fears Conquered

A&E Photo Shoot

Last week, I did something I never thought I’d do – I photographed my first newborn baby, which was amazing, but I also did the shoot in our new house. I’ve always been an outdoor, natural light photographer as I find the light much easier to work with, and locations and backdrops are endless. I was approached by two clients about doing newborn sessions and at first I wanted to tell them no. I was too scared and have a terrible time stepping out of my comfort zone. Heaven forbid I actually do something that could be AMAZING, right?! I honestly went back and forth for days after committing to both of them, about backing out. What if the baby is fussy and I don’t capture any images I like? What if nothing turns out? What if this and what if that? It was exhausting. I finally had enough and told that voice in my head to be quiet, that I was going to go through with it and, if anything, it was going to be a great learning experience.
