Update!!

Hello Friends! It has been entirely TOO long since I’ve written to you. So many wonderful things have been happening that I’ve honestly just been enjoying life and living it fully. I was sitting here trying to figure out where I wanted to begin filling you in and I decided I’d start with my proudest moment first. I’m going to start at the beginning, so grab a cup of coffee or tea and get comfy while I fill you in on my weight loss journey 🙂

The Struggle is Real

It’s been 6 weeks since the Biggest Loser challenge came to an end and I’m happy to report that I’m still working hard at my weight loss. I push myself each and every day and it feels amazing 🙂 I walk an average of 16,000 steps a day and so far my highest day was 25,629! I can’t tell you much I love my Fitbit Charge HR. Well, if you follow me on Instagram then you DO know how much I love it lol. It truly has been a huge motivator for me and the challenges I do with a group of friends via the Fitbit has made it easy to motivate and encourage each other. Some have even called me an inspiration! I never would have dreamed that would happen 🙂 I love helping others achieve their goals and get excited when they have their highest steps ever to date or get milestones badges. It make ME feel good to see them succeed.

New Year ~ New Me

Ice Crystals-EM Photography
Happy  2016 🙂 Yes, I know, I’m late. Better late than never! I’ve been thinking about what I was going to write for my first post of 2016 and it’s taken me until today to figure it all out. So many things have been going on and I honestly haven’t felt the urge to write like I used to. I’m going to slowly ease myself back into a normal rhythm of posting and start sharing some things that have been going on.

Window Wall

You know that feeling when you check off items on a list? That giddy, elated feeling that one more thing is done? It’s wonderful isn’t it? 🙂 That’s how I’m feeling lately. We have been going gangbusters working on projects these past few weeks and the house is coming together more and more each day. One project that we just finished was adding windows and a frame to our kitchen wall. It’s a huge floor-to-ceiling wall and needed something quite big to fill the space.  I took some old windows, wood from up north, and a photo to create a wonderful display 🙂

September Recap

EM Photography

Another month has come and gone. I can’t believe it’s already October. It seems like summer was just getting started. In a way I’m sorry to see summer go, but I’m actually looking forward to having a fire in the fireplace and making more time to do things inside instead of working on the yard. Ready to see how I did on September’s goals?

Love the Home You Have ~ Book Review

Love the Home You Have

I want to start off by thanking Melissa for writing a book that truly feels like it was written just for me. I wish I would’ve had this book when my husband and I first met. The first house we lived in together was a home he purchased when he was with his ex-wife. The reason I tell you that is so that you understand where my feelings came from and why I struggled to love the home we had. Melissa makes you realize that no matter the house you live in or the circumstances that have brought you to where you are you can put all the ideas and dreams from your head into that home.

Second Chance at Life ~ Dresser

Dresser Redo

There have been many projects that I’ve wanted to do well before we even sold our first house. The main one, though, was bringing home two large pieces of furniture from my grandpa’s chicken coop up north. I’m a sentimental person and want to save and restore anything I can get my hands on. I believe that most old & forgotten furniture can, for the most part, be saved and new life breathed into it. From the time I laid my eyes on the old furniture that was piled up in the chicken coop, I knew some day I’d bring it all home and do just that.

Yard Update!

Happy Friday! It’s been way too long since I’ve updated you on all the things blooming in our yard. This summer has gone by so fast and the chill in the air lately is making me think of fall. As I get older, the more I fall in love with this time of year. I know. . . you’re thinking “But Liz, it’s still AUGUST!” Yes, I know but only for a few more days and then it’s SEPTEMBER which immediately switches my mindset from summer to fall. Yes, I will miss the warm days and summer blooms, but there is something about being cozy in the house working on projects that has me excited this year. Oh, and the fact that we have a fireplace now!! I can’t wait to have our first fire in it. OK, now that I’ve probably made a few of you mad for wishing for fall weather, let me share what bloomed in our yard over the past few months 🙂

July Recap and August Goals

Here we are again, at the beginning of a new month 🙂 Mike and I celebrated 6 years of marriage this past weekend and spent the day in Door County. It was a wonderful trip. I’ve been extremely busy with photo shoots which is always good news and I continue to add new clients. I also participated in my first craft show! It was a great learning. Let’s see how well I did on my July goals with how busy I’ve been.
