June Review and July Goals

House

Holy WOW was June a busy month. I had my first ever photo shoot in our home and it was a newborn, which was another first. Then another newborn shoot a few days later and another photo shoot the week after. I was the featured artist at the studio where my photography is for sale, and then we hosted the annual bowling party. That all happened within two weeks time! How much do you think I actually accomplished this month?

Let’s take a look.

Home Life:

  • Clean the kitchen every night before bed. SUCCESS It’s not always completely spotless, but we at least do all the dishes and pick up every night.
  • Clean out three flower beds and add chips. SUCCESS This was a HUGE undertaking, but we actually managed to get ALL the front yard flower beds done. Here’s the whole front of the house 🙂 Doesn’t it look great?!

House

  • Clean out and organize china cabinet. SUCCESS Definitely still need to de-clutter and donate more things, but at least it’s more organized and I promise I actually did get rid of some stuff! Here’s the before and after.

  • Organize cookbook bookcase. SUCCESS This was a pretty easy task. I actually did the china cabinet and this cabinet in the same night. I was on a ROLL! Here’s the before and after.

Business:

  • Get my office set up. FAIL I think my office actually looks worse than it did last month. I bought quite a few things for my newborn shoots and with having that party at our house, my office became the catch all for everything. This will be a huge focus for next month.
  • Create 5 blog posts for recipes, craft projects or home updates. FAIL
  • Blog once a week. SUCCESS This is going under success because while I didn’t do one a week, I did do 6 posts this month so that’s more than the goal I had set 🙂
  • Get products and slideshow ready for Art on the Town. SUCCESS I have to confess that I completed this task about an hour before bed. . . the night before. Art on the Town was a success as well. I sold a few prints and quite a few note cards, but I have to be honest. . . they were all purchased by my mom 🙂 I almost ran out of business cards as well!!

Studio 213

  • Schedule a meeting with Bobby. FAIL I just can’t seem to get this project off the ground.
  • Create a portfolio of past sessions on the business page of this blog. FAIL This will be a goal for next month again. I do have images from last year on it, but I want to create more of a variety.

 Personal/Health:

  • Do kickboxing twice a week for 30 minutes FAIL
  • Read every day. FAIL
  • Create a prayer/gratitude board FAIL
  • Walk with Aayla three times a week FAIL
  • Go to bed by 9:30 every night. EPIC FAIL

Well it sure started out looking like I was getting a lot done! I have to say I’m pretty disappointed in myself in regards to the personal/health part being a huge fail. Time management is going to be a big focus for this next month. I’m putting the last 5 goals back on the list for next month. Now let’s see what I’m going to accomplish in July!

 July Goals

Home Life:

  • Clean out and organize the pantry. I always wanted a large panty and boy did I get what I asked for.
  • Clean out and organize the hall linen closet. Right now everything has just been crammed in to it.
  • Hang our two hanging pots. These have been sitting in the same spot since the day we moved. I really want to utilize the cabinet they are sitting on and want to create a little focal wall above it.
  • Refinish old dresser for the front entry way. This area is the smallest spot in the house where I can easily make a big impact when people walk in the door. I’m still trying to convince the hubby to let me paint out the trim and bi-fold doors so for right now, I’m just going to focus on what I CAN change 🙂

Business:

  • Organize desk area. I would have liked to put organize entire office, but I need to be more realistic lol. Just to be able to work at my desk and actually FIND things would be a great start 🙂
  • Blog once a week or more! I want to get better with consistently posting every week. I think it keeps the readers (few as it may be :)) engaged in what I’m working on or doing.
  • Pack away all newborn props. Right now it looks like a baby shop was unloaded in my office. I’d like to have a place for everything so when I do my next shoot I’ll be ready to go 🙂
  • Unpack all boxes in the office closet. This closet became the dumping ground for everything that didn’t have a home. I couldn’t handle it all over the floor.
  • Write a page on my blog featuring engagement and couple photos. I’d like to use this as a place where I can direct people to go to see a portfolio of my work. Each month I will add another page. Next month will be seniors.

 Personal/Health:

  • Do kickboxing twice a week.
  • Read every day.
  • Create a prayer/gratitude board.
  • Walk with Aayla three times a week.
  • Go to bed by 9:30 every night.

July is going to be an awesome month. I’m full of energy and excited about what the future holds for me.

I hope everyone is having a great week 🙂

Much love,

Liz
