April PopSugar Box

Welcome to my first product review ever! I was so excited to receive this month’s PopSugar subscription box. I must admit that the second I find out the next month’s box is on the way, I head to Instagram to see if others have received theirs. I just can’t help myself! I’ve been a subscriber to PopSugar for over four months now and absolutely LOVE it. It’s always a great mix of items and I rarely receive anything I don’t like or could at least gift to someone.

This month’s box, however, almost didn’t make it to me. I didn’t update our address until after our closing date as to not jinx us. Yes, I fully believe that can happen. Since I didn’t do that, I thought my package would just go to my mom’s house and then be forwarded. The day it was supposed to be delivered came and went and I immediately emailed the support staff and told them of my dilemma. Tracking showed that my box was actually on the way back to them! NOOOOOO! I think I made it worse by knowing what was in this month’s box and I knew I didn’t want to miss out on it. They quickly emailed me back and updated my address and then graciously refunded my money. AMAZING customer service.

I happened to have gone home for lunch on Monday so I could unpack more boxes and put away dishes when the doorbell rang. IT ARRIVED!!! I think the mailman thought I was nuts. I was so excited to see him holding my April PopSugar box. He then informed me that I owed $14.25 for the shipping because they don’t forward packages. Just a drop in the bucket if you ask me since PopSugar had already been amazing and refunded me for the month.

I paid the mailman and quickly opened the box. Ready to dive in and see what was in this month’s box that I was so excited for???

Dabney Lee Dottie Umbrella

  1. Dabney Lee – Dottie Umbrella ~  How stinking cute is this umbrella you guys?!? This was one of the items I was excited to get since I don’t have an umbrella. Even better that it was raining the day this box arrived! I just love the navy and pink together and the polka dots finish it off. I think I may need to get some pink rain boots to go with it 🙂 Retail $20

UPDATE: It’s been raining all day today and I’ve used my cute little umbrella twice so far. I noticed that it’s not very wide. I had to hold it close to my body and hug my purse otherwise it would have gotten soaked. For a light rain. . . it’s good. Heavy rain. . . not the greatest, but it’s still cute!

One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum

  1. One Love Organics – Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum ~   I’ve never used a body serum before so I was excited to give this one a try. I opened the bottle and it smells heavenly. I’ve used it a few times now and love the smell, but haven’t really noticed any real changes in my skin. I’m going to keep using it though as it just may take time to really see the effect. Retail $39

Produce Candles Rhubarb Spring Candle

Produce Candles – Rhubarb Spring Candle ~ I LOVE candles so I was happy to see one in this box. These candles are made with natural soy wax and come in super cute little mason jars. I’m not 100% in love with the smell, but I think I’m going to hang on to it so I can gift it to someone else. Retail $20

UPDATE: I had every intention to gift this candle to someone. Last Friday we were had friends over to see the house for the first time and I wanted to have a candle burning in the bathroom. This was the first one I grabbed and I’m so glad I did! It smells AMAZING! It now has a permanent home in the bathroom and I find myself lighting it every night when I get home from work even through we aren’t have company. Definitely a keeper.

  Flip & Tumble

Flip & Tumble – 24/7 Bag ~  This bag solves SO many problems for me. The popple-like design makes it super compact so you can always leave it in your purse. Does anyone even remember Popples?? Maybe it’s just me. I always forget my re-useable bags in the car or at home when I go grocery shopping. I’m guessing I’m probably not the only one. This would also be a great bag for when you go to the farmers market. It has a comfortable strap so you don’t have to worry about it cutting in to your shoulder as you load it up with fresh produce. I can’t wait to get some use out of it this spring! Retail $12

UPDATE: I’ve used this bag a few times now and love it. It works perfect to haul my finds from St. Vincent 🙂

 Potting Shed Creations Garden-in-a-Bag Basil

  1. Potting Shed Creations – Garden-in-a-Bag Basil ~ This item couldn’t have come at a better time and was the one I was most excited about. I’ve been dreaming of planting a garden for years and now that we are finally in a home of our own, that dream can become a reality. I LOVE having fresh Basil on hand for when the hubby makes homemade pizza. I haven’t learned how to make pesto yet, but you can bet that’s on the list for this year 🙂 Everything you need to grow your Basil is right in this adorable bag.  Retail $10

The bonus item this month was a $25 gift card to Mott 50. Mott 50 created a light-weight clothing line with a 50 ultraviolet protection factor to combat harmful UVA and UVB rays. This is another item that I will probably be gifting to someone.

All-in-all this was a great box. My basil has started growing and the flip & tumble bag is in my purse ready to use. I’ll be updating my Instagram account with photos and thoughts as I use these products so make sure to follow me at www.instagram.com/ladyephotos to stay up to date!

Basil is already coming up!

If you’ve ever wanted to give PopSugar Must Have Box a try, go to http://popsu.gr/vnQb to get the next box that is available. Use code REFER5 at checkout and you’ll get $5 off your first delivery 🙂 I just checked and May is already sold out so make sure to sign up as soon as you can so you don’t miss the next one!! Just to give you an idea on the price for this as I know that’s a question that will come up, the PopSugar monthly subscription is $39.95 a month. To put that in perspective of what you actually receive, this month’s box totaled $126 in suggested retail amount. Considering I’ll be using everything but two of the items I feel as though the value is definitely there.

Hope you are all having a fantastic day! Do you have a favorite subscription box that you receive each month? I’d love to hear about them!!

Until next time.

Much love,

Liz
