April Review and May Goals

I’m a few days late on this, but better late than never 🙂 These past few weeks have been a whirlwind and we are enjoying every second of it! We’re slowly getting unpacked and have settled in to a routine so that’s been nice.

The flowers are starting to come up in the beds and it’s making the front of the house look much happier. It’s been exciting watching everything bloom. I can’t wait to get my hands in the dirt and move things around.

Let’s get down to business. I honestly haven’t looked at these goals since I published this post so it will be interesting to see how much I actually accomplished!

Home Life:

  • Move in! Just getting the keys in hand and changing our address. SUCCESS It was a stressful few days of getting everything changed and we are still having some issues with things being forwarded but that’s out of my hands lol.
  • Get everything moved out of my mom’s house. FAIL/SUCCESS We have the majority of our things moved out, but there is still quite a bit of random things that we need to still move over. I guess this isn’t a complete fail. We don’t really NEED the things that are still left there. It’s just stuff 🙂

  • Create business stationary supplies with our new address on them. SUCCESS It was so exciting to order new business cards, pricing cards, note cards and photo release forms. Didn’t they turn out great?! Vistaprint is my go-to company for all my printing needs including the beautiful note cards I have printed with my photos 🙂

  • Blog twice every week. FAIL I was able to get a few posts done once we moved, but that was about all I had time for. This is going to be an on-going goal.
  • Finish reading Blog Inc. FAIL I’ve at least found the book and it’s on my shelf with all the other books I want to read. I need to finish the other two I have started right now.
  • Finish reading Make It Happen. FAIL Still haven’t been able to get back in to this book. I think I’m going to put it on the back burner and try again later in the year.
  • Start doing product or book reviews. My specific goal is to review my April PopSugar Must Have Box SUCCESS That review will actually be going up on Thursday 🙂
  • Draw up preliminary plans for my secret project SUCCESS Plans are done just need to find someone who can execute the design.

  • Spend 30 minutes every night reading. FAIL/SUCCESS Let’s face it, once we moved in my free time was taken up by unpacking and reorganizing our house. I have been reading every day so I guess this is a partial success 🙂
  • Make the bed every morning. SUCCESS I’m loving this new habit and the hubby is as well. It makes the room look so much more relaxing.
  • Pick up our bedroom before we go to sleep. SUCCESS This has been another habit that is being greatly received by all. I’m not tripping over anything anymore and don’t feel overwhelmed by everything that needs to be put away.

Overall not too bad. I definitely see the need for improvement in the business area. That’s going to be a big focus for May. Speaking of May, let’s take a look at the goals I have laid out for this month.

 May Goals

 Home Life:

  • Clean the kitchen every night before bed. That includes a quick vacuum, wash the dishes, load/unload the dishwasher, and wipe down all the counters.
  • Paint the china cabinet light gray and paint the backer of the cabinet darker gray. I want this to be a place to put all my milk glass and collectibles.
  • Plant a garden. This is going to be my first garden ever and I’m so excited to be able to harvest my own food!
  • Clean out front yard flower beds and add mulch.
  • Design our small deck area with our patio set, white lights and planter boxes on the fence.

  • Have secret project design executed.
  • Get my office set up.
  • Create multiple blog posts for recipes and craft projects so I have a bank to work with.
  • Blog twice a week.
  • Get products ready to place back in Studio 213. This is some exciting news that I haven’t shared with you yet. My photography will be going back up in a local art store to be sold 🙂
  • Schedule a meeting with Bobby to photograph for the bar. I’ll share more about this once I’ve completed this project.
  • Prepare for newborn sessions next month. Review ideas, set-ups, and props. I’ll be photographing my first newborns in June and I’m both excited and terribly nervous.

  • Do kickboxing twice a week for 30 minutes
  • Read every day. Finish Love the Home You Have. Read Power of Now
  • Create a prayer/gratitude board
  • Have a reading done
  • Spend 30 minutes practicing Spanish
  • Walk at least 30 minutes with Aayla three times a week

I’m really feeling good about this month’s goals. I have a lot I want to tackle, but the more things I check off my list the more relaxed I will become. Moving is an overwhelming process and it’s taken me a few days of stepping back to get my mind and body back in line to start completing some projects.
I look forward to coming back next month and updating you on all the things that get accomplished 🙂

Hope you all have a great rest of the day!

Much love,
