House Adventures ~ Land of Unknown Flowers

Each day, our yard is surprising us with more and more flowers and shrubs budding and blooming. I don’t have a clue what half of them are, but I’m sure enjoying watching them grow.

I’m excited to get our garden planted. The previous owners built this beautiful raised garden bed with a trellis. Since we live in Wisconsin, I’m a little nervous about planting too soon. You just never know when we might get a freak snow storm. A friend told me that there are cold weather vegetables that should be OK to start planting so I think that might be my project for this coming weekend.

Until then, I’m going to keep photographing my flowers and shrubs as they bloom so I know what I all have and where they are. I’m just itching to get in and start working on pulling weeds and adding mulch. I noticed there were still things poking through the ground so I might just wait a few more days.

So far I have pink and white bleeding hearts, Iris’s, and possibly some hostas. Oh and roses galore!! I can’t tell you how excited I was to see there were rose bushes. I’ve been wanting roses for YEARS!

I have NO idea what this goofy looking plant is. I keep telling people it reminds me of a Dr. Seuss plant. Do any of you know what it is?

While I impatiently wait for everything to bloom, we’ve been spending lots of time outside getting our outdoor living areas organized. This area is going to be the outdoor dining area. I intend to string up lights from the fence to the house, back and forth. It’s going to be dreamy 🙂

Hubby cleaning the grill, my poor house plants getting some much needed sun and water from the rain barrel the previous owners left me. Don’t mind the bikes. There was no room in the garage at this point 🙂

This view will never get old.

I hope you are all having an amazing day. I’ll be back next week to fill you in on the progress of unpacking and hopefully more photos of the house to share 🙂

Until then.

Much love,

Liz
