Dream Board

I’m sure many of you have heard of dream boards, vision boards or mood boards. Heck, I have a vision boards on Pinterest for everything from what I want my garden to look like to how I’m going to paint my bathroom. There is something about creating an actual physical board, though, that I really love. I’ve made a few in the past, but they were always related to rooms in my house and how I wanted them to be designed one day.

As I was working my way through my Leonie Dawson workbook, I was excited to see that there was a section on creating a dream board for your life and business. If you’ve never heard of this amazing woman or the products she creates, you really should check out the review I did of the 2015 Create Your Shining Year workbook. You can find that here. It’s been absolutely life-changing for me. I highly recommend you check it out 🙂

I loved the idea of creating a board where I could see my dreams and biggest desires on display as a constant reminder of where I wanted our life and my business to be.

I rounded up a giant stack of magazines with the help of a co-worker who subscribes to every magazine under the sun, two poster boards, tape and scissors. I began to think about what I truly wanted out of life for my family and my business. This stack of magazines sat at my desk for almost a whole day.

At one point I turned and looked at the cover of the top magazine and the words “make it your year” jumped out at me. I immediately cut out those words and that began the exciting process of going through all the magazines, looking for things that stood out to me. Sometimes it was words and other times it was images. As I would cut things out, I taped them to the corresponding board.

I quickly filled them both up with inspiring words and images that spoke to me. Now that they are all filled up, I wish I would have painted the boards a pretty color. I’ll have to remember that for next year’s boards 🙂

Update 5/12/2015: Yes, I’m updating this in the original post 🙂 I actually wrote this and created these boards while we were living with my mom. As you can tell from my life board, buying a new home was a BIG part of my dream which has already happened. Many other things on these boards have come to fruition as well!

Hope you enjoyed this post today 🙂 Have you ever made a dream board? I’d love to hear down in the comments if it helped you focus more on your goals and dreams and if any came to fruition!!!

Until next time.

Much love,

Liz
