Recipe ~ BBQ

197 label

ย There are some recipes that I just crave and my mom’s BBQ is one of them. I love making it on the weekends because that seems to be the only time I can give it the time it needs to simmer lol. I decided that the Packer Sunday was a good excuse to make this recipe.

Let’s get started ๐Ÿ™‚

Ingredients:

2 lbs. ground beef

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped green pepper

1 can condensed tomato soup

1 can Italian tomato sauce

3/8 cup packed brown sugar

1/8 cup catsup

1 1/2 Tbl. Worcestershire

1/2 Tbl. prepared mustard

1/2 Tbl. dry mustard

1/2 tsp. chili powder

1/2 tsp. garlic powder

Directions:

Brown hamburger, onions, and green pepper over medium heat.

Cook and stir until hamburger is cooked. Drain excess grease.

Put all other ingredients in a large kettle and stir.

Add hamburger, onion and green peppers to mixture. Stir until combined well.

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for an hour. Stir occasionally. Take cover off for last 10 minutes to let it reduce.

Happy eating! I love eating my BBQ on a bowl with plain potato chips added for extra crunch. I also have been known to eat it right from a bowl with chips. It’s terribly addicting though and we rarely have leftovers.

I hope you enjoyed this recipe!

Until next time.

Much love,

Liz

  2. Looks yummy, Liz, although I have to be honest…I’ve never been a huge BBQ fan! I don’t hate it!! But, I guess I’m just super picky about it, so I might have to give this a try :). Thanks for sharing! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • It is Vicky! It’s on the sweeter side because of the brown sugar but I LOVE it. I hope you give it a try and if you do, I’d love to hear if you like it or not!!
