The Struggle is Real

It’s been 6 weeks since the Biggest Loser challenge came to an end and I’m happy to report that I’m still working hard at my weight loss. I push myself each and every day and it feels amazing🙂 I walk an average of 16,000 steps a day and so far my highest day was 25,629! I can’t tell you much I love my Fitbit Charge HR. Well, if you follow me on Instagram then you DO know how much I love it lol. It truly has been a huge motivator for me and the challenges I do with a group of friends via the Fitbit has made it easy to motivate and encourage each other. Some have even called me an inspiration! I never would have dreamed that would happen🙂 I love helping others achieve their goals and get excited when they have their highest steps ever to date or get milestones badges. It make ME feel good to see them succeed.

New Year ~ New Me

Ice Crystals-EM Photography
Happy  2016🙂 Yes, I know, I’m late. Better late than never! I’ve been thinking about what I was going to write for my first post of 2016 and it’s taken me until today to figure it all out. So many things have been going on and I honestly haven’t felt the urge to write like I used to. I’m going to slowly ease myself back into a normal rhythm of posting and start sharing some things that have been going on.

2016 Create Your Shining Year Bundle HAS ARRIVED!!!

HELLO FRIENDS! I know I have been MIA for a little bit. . . but I promise it was for the better. I have spent the past few months feeling a little stuck and trying to figure it all out. I’ve been tackling house projects, deciding what to do next with my photography, and just spending a little more time on me. I hope you will forgive me, and I promise very soon to be back sharing all the beautiful things we’ve been doing around the house.

Today was a very exciting day. I pre-ordered Leonie Dawson’s Shining Year bundle back in July and I’ve been impatiently waiting for this day to come ever since. I am NOT a patient person so let me say. . .this was a LONG wait. I ran home at lunch, grabbed the box off my front steps and tore it open🙂

October Calmbox

Happy Fall, everyone! I love this time of year🙂 The chillier temperatures mean its boot season and time for fires in the fireplace. It’s also a time when life seems to start to slow down a little bit. I was excited to see what this month’s Calmbox theme would be and what wonderful things would help usher in this next season. Ready to see?

Recipe ~ Honey Beer Bread

Today was a beautiful fall day. The sun was shining and there was a slight chill in the air. We went to the pumpkin patch and spent some time with my mom. Once we got home, I decided it was the perfect day to make some honey beer bread. It makes the house smell so good while it’s baking and tastes good too!

Window Wall

You know that feeling when you check off items on a list? That giddy, elated feeling that one more thing is done? It’s wonderful isn’t it?🙂 That’s how I’m feeling lately. We have been going gangbusters working on projects these past few weeks and the house is coming together more and more each day. One project that we just finished was adding windows and a frame to our kitchen wall. It’s a huge floor-to-ceiling wall and needed something quite big to fill the space.  I took some old windows, wood from up north, and a photo to create a wonderful display🙂

Pinterest FAIL ~ Balsamic Roasted Carrots

EM Photography

I’m trying something new today, being completely open about a recipe I tried and failed at miserably. I debated about even posting it, but I figure this whole cooking thing is a learning process. My husband always asks if I found the recipe on Pinterest and I think that’s his easy way of being able to say he doesn’t like it or want to try it. He doesn’t realize they are still real recipes!! I want to state right here and now that I didn’t follow the recipe exactly and that’s probably why I ate one bite of mine and threw it away. I’m sure if I would have followed it properly, mine would have been just as yummy as these sounded and looked.

31 Days to a Clutter Free Life by Ruth Soukup ~ CHALLENGE Post 1

EM Photography

Hello! Welcome to my journey through the best organizing book I’ve found yet. 31 Days to a Clutter Free Life is exactly what I need as we continue to unpack and organize our life. Each day has an area of the home to organize or task to be completed to help regain control of the clutter and use the space more effectively. I found that as I’m working on one task, I tend to be working on another one without even realizing it! Each time I’m complete a task I’m going to share my before and after photos and what I did to get more organized.

September Recap

EM Photography

Another month has come and gone. I can’t believe it’s already October. It seems like summer was just getting started. In a way I’m sorry to see summer go, but I’m actually looking forward to having a fire in the fireplace and making more time to do things inside instead of working on the yard. Ready to see how I did on September’s goals?
